1. Nature of the service

North Carolina Workplace Advocates (“NCWA”) is an independent private organization. NCWA provides a structured process for documenting workplace concerns, organising complaint information into a case file, and providing access to informational resources describing outside organizations.

NCWA is not a law firm, does not practise law, does not provide legal representation, and does not provide legal advice. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice or a legal opinion, and no attorney–client relationship is created by your use of this website or by the submission of a complaint.

2. No affiliation with government agencies

NCWA is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the State of North Carolina, the North Carolina Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the United States Department of Labor, or any other governmental agency or body.

References to those organizations on this website are informational. NCWA does not file, submit, transmit, or refer complaints to any agency, and no agency is a party to any case file created here.

3. No guarantee of outcome

Submission of a complaint does not guarantee that any investigation will occur, that any agency will accept a complaint, that any remedy will be available, or that any particular result will be reached. Available resources and possible next steps depend entirely on the specific circumstances of each situation and on the independent judgement of the outside organizations involved.

4. Accuracy of information

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you submit. NCWA does not independently verify the contents of a complaint. Knowingly false information may affect how a case file can be used and may expose the submitter to legal consequences under applicable law.

5. Confidential information

Do not submit social security numbers, financial or account information, medical records, immigration information, passwords, or information belonging to other individuals who have not consented to its submission. NCWA cannot control what you choose to include in a written description or an attachment.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not use the intake form to harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person.
• Do not attempt to access the case management console, other users’ case files, or any administrative function without authorisation.
• Do not interfere with the operation of the website or attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorised access to any system.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, misleading, or that infringes the rights of others.

7. Availability and changes

NCWA may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of this website or the intake process at any time without notice. We may decline to accept or may discontinue processing of any complaint at our discretion.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NCWA disclaims all liability arising from or related to your use of this website and the submission of information through it, including any loss of data, loss of access to case files, or reliance on the content of informational resources. NCWA is not liable for any action taken by any third party or outside organization.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in North Carolina.
